There was a king He saw a dream. In the dream a charitable saint was saying to him, Son! Tomorrow night you will be bitten by a poisonous snake and you will die from its bite. That snake lives in the root of a certain tree. He wants to take revenge from you for his previous enmity.

Morning came, the king woke up and talked about the dream. What measures should be taken for self-defense? Started thinking about it. After thinking, the king came to the decision that there is no other weapon on this earth that can defeat the enemy better than sweet behavior. He decided to change the snake's mind by being kind to it.

As soon as the evening came, the king spread a bed of flowers from the root of the tree to his bed, sprinkled fragrant water, placed bowls of sweet milk at different places and told his servants that if a snake came out at night, someone should somehow kill it. Don't try to hurt.

At night the snake came out of its shell and moved towards the king's palace. As he moved ahead, he became happy seeing the welcoming arrangements made for him. Lying on a soft bed, savoring the pleasant fragrance, and drinking sweet milk at various places, he moved forward.

In this way, instead of anger, feelings of satisfaction and happiness started increasing in him. As he moved ahead, his anger diminished. When he started entering the palace, he saw that the guards and gatekeepers were standing armed, but they did not try to harm him at all.

Seeing this extraordinary scene, the snake felt filled with affection. The magic of good behaviour, humility and sweetness had mesmerized him. He had set out to kill the king, but now his task became impossible for him. How should I kill that pious king who has such a friendly attitude towards the enemy who comes to harm him? Due to this question he fell into dilemma.

By the time he reached the king's bed, the snake's resolve completely changed. On the other hand, after some time the snake reached the king's bedroom. The snake said to the king, King! I had come to avenge my previous birth by biting you, but your courtesy and good behavior defeated me.

Now I am not your enemy, but your friend. I am giving you my precious gem as a gift of friendship. Take it, keep it with you. Saying this and placing the gem in front of the king, the snake went away.
